Common Vehicle NCT Failures

Posted by: In: Uncategorized 01 May 2013 Comments: 0

New figures show that more than half of all vehicles tested last year failed their NCT test first time. It seems like many motorists are simply cutting back on the essential vehicle maintenance and servicing in a driving effort to cut their motoring costs.

With more than one million cars going through the NCT test last year this means that over 500,000 cars failed their test first time around.

Many of these failures can be avoided with safety checks from your local garage. Along with NCT failures   many major costly vehicle repairs may also be prevented by carrying out regular general engine servicing and a vehicle check over on your car.

Common NCT failures:

Lights: (blown bulb – headlamp alignment) Engine: (exhaust emissions) Suspension: (bushings – steering linkages – shocks) Brakes: (worn brake pads – handbrake adjustment)
